coconuts of peacefulness

I SPOKE as I poured Moroccan mint tea, steaming, into seven small glass teacups. “A doctor could prescribe coconuts if he wanted to . . . ” I let the words hang in the air.
“Coconuts? Coconuts?” The tropical word echoed through the corner classroom. My coconut comment had really grabbed their attention. “Why not?” I pressed the point. I said, “Of course a doctor can prescribe coconuts.”
“But the pharmacy wouldn’t know what to do with a coconut prescription!” said a woman in a wheelchair. I handed her a fragrant teacup.
